Collagen Premium from Doppelherz system contains a combination of nutrients that support endogenous collagen synthesis in all tissues where it is needed

Collagen deposited in the dermis gives skin its elasticity and smoothness, whereas in cartilages and tendons, collagen is import for the mechanical properties of articulations.

  • 2.5 g Collagen peptides: they help to increase skin elasticity and at the same time to reduce wrinkle depth. Arranged in fibers, collagen also contributes to improve collagen structure in cartilages and tendons, which is beneficial for joint function and mobility.

  • Vitamin C: contributes to normal endogenous collagen synthesis and to the proper function of cartilages and bones.

Effect of ingested collagen peptides on the skin

In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, 100 women between 45 and 65 took daily 2.5 g of collagen peptides or a placebo. Participants were treated for 8 weeks [5].
 
After 4 weeks, collagen synthesis activity was assessed by measuring procollagen accumulation in the sub-epidermal fluid obtained from suction blisters: In the group who received collagen peptides, a 65 % increase in procollagen content of the sub-epidermal fluid was observed (as compared to baseline).
 
Skin wrinkles were measured by optical 3D skin measurement at the outer eye area after 4 and 8 weeks: After 4 weeks of use, a significant reduction of wrinkle depth was observed. Longer use was associated with further improvement.
 
In another randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, 66 women aged 35–55 years received 2.5 g collagen peptides or placebo daily for 8 weeks [6].
 
After 4 weeks, a 9 % reduction in eye wrinkle volume was observed, which increased to 25 % after 8 weeks.
 
Skin elasticity also improved, with a 6 % increase after 4 weeks and 9 % after 8 weeks compared to placebo.
 
Skin hydration significantly increased by 29 % after 8 weeks (as compared to baseline).
